Our new name...

Over the past few weeks everyone has been submitting their input. It was very interesting to see that most names got atleast a few votes, and often by those who didn't submit the name. In the end it was a very close vote. There was only a difference of 3 votes (23-20) between the two most popular names: The Harvest Patch and Harvest Gardens (not in any specific order).

...And the winner is Harvest Gardens!

Keep your eyes peeled as we try over the next few weeks to come up with some signage to display our new name.

Let the naming begin...

All the submissions for our garden name are in and it's time to vote. I'm excited to see what our name will be. Once it has been decided upon we'll get some designs done and then erect a beautiful sign that we can all be proud of. Here are the rules for the vote:

1. Choose your three favourite names.
2. Organize them from most favourite to least with corresponding numbers 1,2,3.
3. Email your list to cmroy@yahoo.com with the subject: VOTE.
4. First choices are worth 3 points, Second choices 2 points, and Third choices 1 point (It should help us average out something we can all live with).
5. Results will be tallied on July 12 and announced July 13 so get your responses in quickly.
6. The following order of the names is random having been drawn out of a hat (a cowboy hat if you are really interested, a little bit dusty and very smelly; quite fitting if you ask me).

One week and our name will be born...

Submissions have been flowing in for potential names to our garden. With only one week remaing until the June 30th deadline we have over 20 entries. I have a feeling it will be a difficult vote to win as there are some terrific names floating around. There is still time for everyone's ideas to be heard, email your best to cmroy@yahoo.com with Garden Name as the subject.

Plots and plants, but no name???

It's time to name our garden. So put on your thinking caps and get creative. Check out the "about the northern hills community garden" section to see what we're trying to accomplish and then let the creative juices flow. If your idea works better as part of a sign, go with it. We'll be making signs with the name eventually, so killing two birds with one stone would be great.
